It didn't take long for quiet Kristine and shy Jay to open up in front of the lens. We started with their engagement session in the Lincoln Park neighboorhood (here
). These two were so nervous about getting their pictures taken but shortly realized they were both naturals! I must say, their wedding holds a very special place in my heart. I have lived in this wonderful city of Chicago for three years now and Kristine & Jay's 2017 wedding was my very first downtown wedding! I must admit, I was nervous and slightly out of my comfort zone but my excitement quickly took over upon arriving on site. Once I started shooting, I remembered why I love my city so much and couldn't for the life of me think about a single reason to be nervous. These two put their full confidence in my creative ability and I was determined not to disappoint. During their engagement session, they explained to me how they spent many outings together during their dating years at an arcade on the west side. I immediately lit up and went on a tangent about how we had to make it a priority to take photos at the arcade on the day of their wedding. After a few calls, we made it happen! So there we went! Kristine and Jay had just said "I do" and we celebrated by making a pit stop to hang at the bar, play a little pinball and say hello to our friend Mrs. Pacman. We even were granted private access to the basement. It is amazing what kind people will do for newly weds am I right?
Kristine & Jay's rooftop Chicago wedding goes down in the books for me as a stepping stone in my career and the day that I fell even more in love with my city. I love Chicago, I love these two, and I love my job. Cheers to that my friends!
